This is traditionally the time of year when the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest (please just bear with me), but every year Hallowe'en, All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day pass without my receiving a visit from any of my ancestors. Maybe they just don't want to be spend hours being shown my family tree and interrogated about their lives. What if I narrowed it down to just one question?
I don't know how widely read my blog is or how influential (!) I supposedly am on Twitter, but thought I'd start off November with a little straw poll: if you could ask just one question of any one of your ancestors, what would it be?
Update: Else Churchill at the Society of Genealogists (@SoGGenealogist) wants to know: "how did Thomas Churchill afford a £10 3 lives lease in 1790 when he'd just buried his wife in a paupers grave?" Hmmm...wonder what he'd say...and I wonder what his wife would say if the same question were put to her!
