Strangers in Castle Hedingham

© Copyright Oxyman and licensed for reuse under this Creative Commons Licence.

This is probably my last in the series of Castle Hedingham blogs and it brings together the strangers who passed through the village before the 20th century. Maybe someone is researching 19th century Gypsy and Traveller families, or someone on your family tree seems to have disappeared – perhaps they’re one of the baptised or buried strangers (someone not belonging to the parish).  There are also baptisms and burials of passengers on the coach routes travelling through the village.

For the most part I’ve not covered records relating to nearby villages as they are quite frequent, and the transcriptions of the full registers can be searched easily from the Castle Hedingham website.
